Our short breaks centre has grown and developed over the years, and we are proud to offer each child a warm, nurturing environment with a wraparound approach to care that supports their individual needs.

• Our therapeutic lead supports children and young people who may have experienced trauma, while also helping our team understand that every behaviour is a form of communication and should be met with care, patience, and understanding.
• We have speech and language therapist who helps children and young people to communicate in ways that work best for them, including communication boards, picture exchange, and Tac Pac, which uses touch and music to support interaction.
• A registered nurse oversees medication within the centre and works closely with consultants and other health professionals to make sure each child’s health needs are safely and carefully supported.
• Team Teach instructors focus on positive behaviour support, helping children and young people to feel safe, build resilience, and develop healthy coping skills.

We invest in our staff through professional training and qualifications, helping them grow in confidence, knowledge, and skills so they can provide the very best support to the children and young people in our care.

Alongside the in-house support we provide, we  commission specialist services, such as occupational therapy, to make sure every child receives the care and support they need.

We listen carefully to the views, wishes, and feelings of the children and young people who use our centre, and this has helped us make many positive changes. We are also proud to have recently been awarded Investors in Children.

We are building a versitile staff team and working responsibly with local councils to deliver our aims of helping families to continue to look after their children at home.  

We are registered with Ofsted for Short-Breaks with a rating of Good and serve local councils around the North East.
